The process of booking the Hoo-Hah Party Sound System involves checking that we're available for your proposed date, letting us know how long you want us to play, by when you need us to be set up and agreeing a price.

Once we agree costs and timings, we'll send you two signed contracts, one for you to keep and the other for you to sign and return with a deposit to confirm the booking. The outstanding balance is payable one month in advance of the event date...

It's a good idea to discuss in advance the music you'd like to hear on the night.

We give you a free music consultation. You can supply us a short-ish list over the 'phone, via e-mail or we can meet to discuss your music a few weeks in advance of the party. We then devise an expanded playlist based on your requests and suggestions.

On the evening, this will be used for guidance, rather than a hard-and-fast play order - we generally don't programme more than two or three tracks in advance - that way we can move the evening along with the mood.

Of course, we can take requests on the night and we'll do our best to play what is asked for, if we have it, it fits in, and if we have time available.

Mal Smith's DJ style is more Norman Jay than Norman Cook. He doesn't work the microphone, encourage the guests to dance by playing games (unless you want him to) or introduce tracks - he just lets the music work its magic.
